The Aboriginal Mineral Resource Centre invited Chief Phil Fontaine O.M., O.C.  to the Norman B Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering to be introduced to its mandate.  The mandate of AMRC is to, through First Nation, Metis and Inuit community driven research, enable the critical examination of mineral resource development and associated mining topics.  In addition to research endeavors, AMRC is also committed to community educational outreach through the design and delivery of Life Long Learning Courses, through distance and seminar delivery systems for Leadership, Land, Economic Development and Educational Officers. A small reception for Chief Fontaine was held after the meeting with invited guests from various other Faculty of the Applied Science Departments and the First Nations House of Learning.
