Professional Development Short Courses for the Working Professional

 

The Mining Studies Institute (MSI) caters to the working professionals by facilitating the increase of knowledge sharing through the form of Short Courses.  MSI is apart of the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering.  Short Courses are offered in Vancouver, BC and at remote locations.  

 

MSI offers a diverse selection of Short Courses in one, two and three day time periods. Topics include:

  • Exploration – Geology – Reserves
  • Geotechnics – Rock Mechanics – Hydrology
  • Environment – Health – Safety
  • Mining Methods - Mine Planning
  • Management – Risk – Financial
  • Mineralogy - Mineral Processing

 

These Short Courses can be taken individually or become a part of the qualifications for Graduate work or the Certificate in Mining Studies.  To qualify for Certification or Graduate level courses, each course is enhanced through on-line learning (EduMine) and a project.  Costs are based on industry rates unless subsidized by the University of British Columbia.
