The Department of Mining Engineering is committed to being a leader in education and research in a new era where mining assumes a more responsive and responsible role in the world.

Our Mining Engineers are involved in a wide range of activities. Our Department is heavily involved in networking with industry, government, and other universities for distance/lifelong learning.

 

We are on the cutting edge of research into the development of advanced, clean, integrated mining systems.

 

As one of the premier mining schools in the world today, we are developing novel mining and processing methods to address the technical challenges and important social and environmental issues faced by our Industry.

 

We view Mining as a sustainable industrial activity that provides major benefits for mankind and the world.
