Projects

Progress through reseach is a collaborative effort with results that benefit the mining industry in this generation and the next.

Faculty members conduct research in their chosen field of expertise to promote advances in the industry and as a means to teach and support graduate students.  Funding for research comes from three sources:

    • mining companies looking for a specific outcome;
    • NSERC, a federal government agency that supports research in engineering; and
    • fees generated from services provided.

Click a link below for a summary of current research projects in the Department.  If you would like further information on a specific project please contact the faculty researcher directly by going to Faculty Contacts or info@mining.ubc.ca to contact a graduate student.

NBK has recently been added to the MineCan database. This is an important database for Canadian Mining R&D.
