Two criteria will be considered, the academic grade average and demonstrated expertise/industrial experience.
Applicants are evaluated on a case by case basis. Depending on the applicant’s educational background, a qualifying year of course work may be required before commencing graduate work.
All applicants to the Graduate Studies for whom English is a second language must show proof of proficiency in English by submitting a TOEFL score of at least 80 in total (20 in each Unit) or IELTS Score of 6.5 (6.0 in each unit).
All applicants to the Graduate Studies for whom English is a second language must show proof of proficiency in English (see the minimum Scores below):
- Use the University of British Columbia’s institution code 0965 and the NBK Institute of Mining Engineering department code, 69.
- Give the reason for taking TOEFL “to enter a college or university as a graduate student”
