We are pleased to invite applications for the Wheaton Precious Metals Professorship in Mine Economics and Innovation, a tenure-track Assistant Professor position within the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. has established an endowed Professorship in Mine Economics and Innovation at the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC). The Wheaton Precious Metals Professorship is intended to lead a unique, multidisciplinary program that will support the integration of economics, business and innovation into mining engineering research and teaching at the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at UBC. The professorship will seek to provide leading edge research and solutions to support more cost-effective, efficient and productive mine operations. The professorship will collaborate across disciplines and across industries to advance financial modelling and decision making for mine operations, integrating technological innovations that also enhance safety and mitigate environmental impacts. . It will grow the sector’s pipeline of community-centered mining professionals educated in mining economics, supply chain, project management, risk analysis and evaluation to support responsible, innovative and efficient mining.
