Dr. Anoush Ebrahimi is a mining engineer who has worked for universities, open pit mines, and consulting companies for more than 30 years. Anoush has long history of conducting research, mentoring graduate students, as well as teaching. This includes teaching the surface mining course and developing the mine planning computer lab at the University of British Columbia. His area of research is strategic mine planning, optimization, dilution control and reconciliation.
He has designed multiple small and large open pit mines in Canada and abroad, some of which went successfully into production. His experiences include a long range of commodities including copper, gold, molybdenum, lead/zinc, diamond, rare earth elements, phosphate, bauxite, and oil sands. Anoush specializes in strategic mine planning, mine evaluation, open pit optimization and design, production scheduling, mine layout optimization, mine simulation, and computer modelling.
Dr. Anoush Ebrahimi is an active member of CIM, SME and Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
