Biography

Dr. Sonia D’Ambra has almost 20 years of experience in academia and consulting for projects related to geotechnical investigations, rock mass characterization and slope design for mining and civil disciplines. Sonia has extensive experience in numerical modelling for surface and underground mining operations, as well as civil slope design.

Over the past 15 years, Sonia has focused on mining projects gaining experience with all study phases and project life-cycle phases. She is passionate about finding integrated long-term cost-effective solutions that take into consideration the complexity of a mining project with its technical, social, environmental and economic challenges. Solutions that are not only technically sound, but reduce costs, maximize value, improve safety and support sustainability.
