Biography

Dr. Sanja Miskovic received her Ph.D. degree in minerals engineering from Virginia Tech in 2011. Dr. Miskovic’s expertise is in the broad area of modeling, optimization, and control of multiphase processes. Her research work focuses on computational and experimental fluid dynamics of complex multiphase systems in macro-, meso-, and micro-scale. Currently, Miskovic’s research group is working on the development and utilization of advanced measurement techniques for the multiphase flow characterization and process diagnostics. In her work, she is utilizing both computational and experimental studies to understand the relationship between energy input, flow dynamics, machine design, and process efficiency of various particulate processing units.

Before joining UBC’s Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering, she worked as a faculty at the University of Utah, Department of Metallurgical Engineering where her teaching efforts were recognized with the Outstanding Teacher Award. In addition, she was a recipient of the prestigious University of Utah Beacons of Excellence Award for creating transformational experiences that empower students.
