Research

The extraction and processing of mineral resources involves a wide range of topics and the breadth of research themes required to advance the field is correspondingly large. Faculty and students in the Norman B Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering (NBK) conduct research in advanced mining and mineral processing systems, recycling electronic waste, mine energy systems, multiphysics characterization of geo-materials and processes, among several other areas. Descriptions of the research groups and labs at NBK are at the links to the left.
