Laser diffraction particle size distribution analysis for suitable mineral and particulate samples.

Photographs taken in the Mining laboratory. Actual instrument and operating setup.
Overview
The Mastersizer 2000 uses laser diffraction to determine particle size distributions. The current laboratory procedure uses wet dispersion for suitable materials, with a preliminary sieve to remove particles larger than 500 µm.
